Bio
Yuhong Pang is an award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker based in China.
She found the her passion of visual storytelling in college and started to make documentaries with friends since then.
Her first short documentary, She’s Not a Boy, has won the Best Short at Vancouver Queer Film Festival, and screened in over a dozen film festivals worldwide, including DOC NYC, The Atlantic Selects and Oslo/Fusion International Film Festival. Yuhong’s work has been featured on The Wall Street Journal, BBC, The Atlantic, MSNBC, and in several independent documentaries.
She is passionate to explore stories on immigration, education, poverty, gender, and sexuality. Influenced by her life both in China and America, she hopes to do great deeds with her passion, insight and empathy through the lens of her camera.
